Children and teens have a
natural affinity for spirituality. If they are encouraged to develop
spiritual awareness while they are young, they gain a trust in life and
a sense of self that serves them all their lives.
The churches of Religious Science International are committed to
providing a spiritual education for children and teens. Through the
teaching of Science of MindŽ, our youth learn
spiritual values, principles and skills that enable them to live happy,
creative and effective lives.
Teen church is for youth ages 13-18. The purpose of teen church is
for teens to develop an awareness of the Divine Presence within; to
learn to trust in their inner wisdom and guidance; to accept their
inherent value and unique self-worth; to discover and use the creative
power of mind in their everyday lives; and to experience and express
love for themselves and one another.
In the church setting teens share their dreams, fears and experiences
in a safe, spiritual environment where they find acceptance,
encouragement and personal spiritual growth. They develop confidence
within themselves and respect for the value of their self. RSI sponsors
Teen Seminars twice a year: Winter and Summer. Teens throughout
the U.S. and Canada are welcome. The seminars encourage spiritual growth
in an environment which offers freedom of expression within the
framework of planned activities.
Junior church is for the younger children starting about age 4 to 5.
Children at this age are allowed to explore their special individual
creativity while being taught they are spiritual beings. Building
positive self-esteem while having fun allows them to participate in a
loving environment and learn to express love for themselves and
others.
